Branching genres and keeping things interesting is nothing new to Brooklyn based producer Oh Tebins. After taking a year away from releasing original material, he is back with an eclectic collection of thoughtful and uniquely captivating bass music gems. Starting off the release is the Drumstep chiller "I'm Attractive".
Haunting and passionate vocals cast a desperate air over a torn landscape of lush pads and subtly vicious bass. Next, is the title track "Kissing Cousins". Boasting bright melodic artistry atop a cleverly chopped soul sample, this tune is a neck snapping entree bass dessert. For track three, Oh Tebins gives us an expertly executed remix of his tune "Back Fat Donor". Cast in the 64ths architecture of its original, this remix exemplifies exactly the caliber of production of Kevin Speltz.
Balanced synthetics touch gently on aggressive bass notes, and apprehensive vocals. Sitting at 110bpm, "Tastes Like" ups the ante. Blanketed in dance floor synths, pulsing bass, and curious vocal chops, this thing is a floor wrecker. Finishing the release on a thick note is the flagrant tune "Lipstick". A soft and catchy melody makes way for heavy handed bass construction, and slap happy trap influences.
