As Chaos Control's sixteenth release, the Featherhat Fiddlesticks EP represents the producer duo's continued effort to blend cutting-edge electronic bass sound design and meticulously detailed beats with pristine orchestral and world instrument sounds. With thematic beats in the same vein as previous hits "Ganja Geisha" and "Jawbone Juxtaposition", the tracks feature hard-hitting, heavily swung and funky grooves from 85 to 100 BPM, mind-blowing psychedelic basses and a mix of classical instruments including violins, double-basses, pianos, flutes, horns, guitars and EPs. Last but certainly not least, there are tripped-out scratching performances by DMC champion DJ Swamp. Chaos Control also makes a pointed use of contrast and silence to emphasize the rhythms, never overwhelming the listener with too many sounds at once. Aside from being extremely dance-worthy, the EP offers much to the casual listener with it's detailed micro-edits, catchy melodies and constant change-ups. Without a doubt, it is the duo's most brilliant release yet in the genre. If you like the glitch-hop sound pioneered by the Street Ritual imprint, you simply must have a listen to this groundbreaking EP!
